"Oh,
how wonderful!" is what you will say when you arrive at
the Wilsons Prom Retreat holiday house.
The
architect designed house will impress you, but the uninterrupted,
180 degree view over Corner Inlet to the Prom, Snake Island and the
Strzelecki Ranges will take your breath away.
|
|
| When
you step inside, you will know immediately that you will be comfortable
in the
large, four bedroom house. But you can see a problem looming:
with such fantastic views, maybe you
won't actually want to go out and enjoy the features of the area.

Note: The house is MUCH closer to the water than
it looks - just a few minutes walk |
 |
|
| But
wait, the gates to the Wilsons Promontory National Park are just a few
minutes drive away, and the beach on Corner Inlet is just a few minutes
walk away.
You know that you could go
fishing, walking, bird
watching, swimming, and so much more... But that couch looks so inviting,
and the view so engrossing...
Never mind - that's the type of
problem you like to have! |
 |
Views,
and more views
|
|
Spectacular
views abound at Wilsons Prom Retreat. We are on Duck Point, so
the views wrap around the house. You can look North over
farmland toward Foster.
 |
Or
take in Doughboy Island with the Strzelecki Ranges beyond. |
|
| Duck
Point, just a few minutes walk away, is in the foreground as
you gaze toward Port Welshpool and Snake Island.
|
 |
|
|
|
| Or
you can look across to the Prom itself, from Mt. Singapore to Mt.
Vereker, it is all laid out before you. Bring your binoculars,
because no matter what the time of day, or the weather, there is
always something to see.

|
|
|
 |
Of
course, in the morning you will see golden sunrises over the
Prom, and at
night, watch for spectacular moonrises.
And
if there is no moon, prepare to be amazed! There is so little
"light pollution" that the stars form a glowing ceiling
above your head, with the entire Milky Way in view.
If
you like sunsets, you will not be disappointed. Just walk up
the driveway and look West over hundreds of acres of farmland, and
some of the best sunsets you could hope for. |

The
house
|
| Wilsons
Prom Retreat has four bedrooms, a large living/dining room, a
bathroom (with one toilet and shower/bath), plus a laundry with
shower and toilet. The
living/dining room is very bright with floor to ceiling windows
facing east and north. If the sun does not warm the house, the
wood heater and gas heater will.
Note: You get the whole house to yourself.

Features
By
now you should be convinced that we have excellent views. But
why else would you stay at Wilsons Prom Retreat?
First,
the house is on 1.2 ha (about 2.5 acres) and it is surrounded by
bush, and is in close proximity to the beach and a variety of
walking tracks. Corner Inlet is known for its abundant
bird-life and other wildlife, and you can expect the occasional
furry visitor.
 |

|
| Second,
we are five minutes drive to the gates of Wilsons Promontory
National Park. There are fantastic walks and beaches.
You can climb mountains, visit beautiful valleys, go swimming or
surfing, and watch the emus, kangaroos, wombats and more.

|
 |
| Third,
there is a boat ramp at the bottom of the hill, which is the gateway
to Corner Inlet and the open sea.
Corner
inlet has some of the best fishing in Victoria. Snapper, gummy
shark, whiting, and flathead are generally plentiful. You can
also fish from the beach, and you can fish on Shallow Inlet.
